Saving the digital trees by combining a full weekend of shows into one post. A to the L is for the environment. (Obviously this will make this a loooooooooooooong ass post, so exercise your scroll finger.)
Last night’s Diggin’ In The Crates show featured myself and E-Zone in the studio and on the mix for the first time in ages. Zone being always full of surprises however, decided to jump off the tables only 20 minutes into his session, leaving the bar set pretty high, and leaving me a nice hour and half(ish) of pressure-time to run through. The show’s mixes and tracklists are below after the jump, and even if I say so myself, the shit turned out pretty hot.
With the weather touching 95 degrees over the weekend, BBQ season was in full effect. With this in mind, summery West Coast BBQ music was called for – at least for the first part of the DITC show. The second half of the show meanwhile saw a trip taken back to classic NYC joints. Have fun with the Cadillac Joe and X-Mart ads that I kept in to break up the mixes… when people look back at this mix years from now, their lasting impression will be the fabulous dancehall-tinged commercial for sex aids.
Moi, back in the Blazin’ studio with Stess, Vestax power supply issues resolved, and happily ignoring all requests for Plies and Lil Wayne for an hour and half or so. You know how things go on Sunday nights at 8pm. (Tracklist after the jump.)

Diggin’ In The Crates, live on Blazin’ 102.3 (04/19/09)
Unfortunately my super-duper-mixer-fixer job on my power supply was a one-shot deal, which meant that the next day, Sunday, I held down Diggin’ In The Crates with E-Zone on Blazin’ 102.3 using the Rane Serato mixer instead of my trusty Vestax. Despite the minor handicap, I had a blast (as always) and ran a complete shitload of tracks. (Tracklist after the jump.)
Below is the 2-part mix from last night’s Blazin’ 102.3 DITC set. The first hour was a by-request Southern set, shortened due to me being held up in traffic, and getting to the station late. The second hour was all West Coast. The end.
So I did the Diggin’ In The Crates mix again at Blazin’ last night with Stess, covering for E-Zone who was out getting drunk broadcasting live at the Platinum Club in Quincy. Yesterday’s mix is posted below… it actually turned out better than I thought while at the station, and the minor technical difficulties that Stess and I were going through up there (nh) are barely obvious from the audio…
