I really had no plan for tonight’s show, until on the way to the station DJ Riz’s infamous ‘Lost In Brooklyn’ mixtape came up on random play on the Ipod… so the task was then set to attempt to recreate the best of this great mixtape live, with no safety net. It’s definitely not a patch on the original, but at short notice and diggin’ in the crates as I went rather than having everything pre-prepped, it’s not bad. Check for that in the 2nd segment, right after Kim D’s intro.

Rebirth Of Slick’s monthly residency at Lees Wine Bar continues in September with DJ A to the L and M.E.R.C. once again hosting a celebration of classic Hiphop featuring live performances, breaking displays from the C.Y.P.H.E.R & Children of the Koncrete/B-Girl View crews, and the culinary support of the Cravings Truck. (And of course backed by the finest wine and beer selections in Tallahasee from Lee and his crew.)
AND IT’S ALL FREE! There is no entry fee, no door charge, no nothing, no nada, no payment, no money required to attend the event…. this of course means that there is NO EXCUSE for not attending.

Stess The Emcee was born Thomas Roach to a Military family. His eclectic sound gives credit to the different regions and countries he has lived. A fierce competitor had him on stages and in ciphers battling the most elite of MCs. He learned of his Hip Hop affinity at the age of four when he heard DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince’s album, He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper. By high school he was competing in online competitions, and by college he was recording music while hosting and performing shows. Post college he maintains a job as an on air personality at Blazin 1023, in Tallahassee Fl. It is arbitrion rated as the number one radio station in Tallahassee Florida. He landed the gig in 2005 based on a relationship forged with the then music director in 2003. While attending LaGrange College Stess The Emcee became the local freestyle champion. Sometimes he made the trip both ways in the same day. Eventually he landed a job, and now he can be heard seven days a week on commercial radio.
