Home Taping Is Killing Music Month Presents : DJ Red Alert, Marley Marl, DJ Clark Kent – ‘Rock The House’
This was the other tape that came with the ‘Freestyle Raps – MCs Go Wild’ tape that I copped from Depth Charge, and spoke about here. Its misleadingly mislabelled though, as Pete Rock isn’t on it at all – Molly explains that he’s on tour with Heavy D somewhere on the second half of the tape, so Clark Kent is filling in. In addition, the first side of the tape isn’t WBLS at all – its Red Alert on Kiss… but hey, there’s nothing wrong with a little variety right?
Red cuts up Tribe, Salt N Pepa, EPMD’s gayest record, Kane, Black Sheep, a snippet of NWA, and a few other bits and pieces before his stint on the wheels gives way to Molly and Clark wrecking shop with classic cuts from the late 80’s…
AND…
a fabulous contest to win “Walking With A Panther” on cassette!!!
Man they really love them some Special Ed.
